rainwater harvesting

"The reserves of good water are not inexhaustible. It is therefore becoming increasingly urgent to conserve them, manage them sparingly and, wherever possible, increase them". Quote from the European Water Charter

Every liter of rainwater consumed saves one liter of drinking water and thus protects valuable drinking water resources.

Wastewater systems and rainwater retention basins can be made smaller by using rainwater. We offer rainwater components for use and individually dimensioned rainwater throttle systems for industry, commerce and private households. From advice and sales to installation and maintenance. Please get in touch with one of our contact persons, we will advise you individually on your request.

rainwater systems

However, constant operational readiness and functionality are prerequisites for a rainwater system. Only reliable and low-maintenance components can guarantee this. Of course, our complete systems and all components from rainwater harvesting meet this requirement! Notes on the use of rainwater:

Garden

Rainwater is soft, ie lime-free water, and is therefore preferable for pouring drinking water.

Rainwater as an optimal medium for plants (e.g. absorption of minerals.

toilet flush

no formation of urine scale in the toilet and the saving of drinking water.

Washing machine

According to studies from Bremen and Hamburg, there are no hygiene concerns about using rainwater to wash laundry. The soft water also saves detergent and softener and improves the washing process, especially with acid-sensitive soap detergents, and extends the life of the washing machine (no calcification).

With a sufficiently good fine cleaning of the rainwater with the help of filters, you can use rainwater for washing.

Clean

Rainwater is well suited for complete house cleaning, window cleaning, etc. Another advantage: no lime stains due to lime-free rainwater.

Dimensioning of the cistern

For the use of rainwater in the house and garden, we recommend a tank volume of 5000 to 6000 liters for a roof area of 100 m², for example.

aspects of hygiene

If the rainwater utilization system is properly installed, there are no hygienic concerns about using rainwater in the building services. Experience reports and scientific investigations have confirmed this, as documented, for example, by a long-term study by the State Hygiene Institute in Bremen in relation to the use of rainwater for washing clothes. After that, no significant differences could be found between the laundry washed with drinking water and that washed with rainwater. In addition, no impairment of the washing effect can be seen.

Financial Savings

The reduction in drinking water consumption leads to direct savings in water consumption. In many places, this incentive is supplemented by subsidies from the municipalities, by waiving additional wastewater charges, etc. By using the very soft rainwater in the washing machine, there is no need for a softener. The dosage of the detergent is therefore lower and also saves costs. The result is better wastewater quality in favor of sewage treatment plants and bodies of water.

The positive ecological effects also bring indirect financial relief for public budgets.

It makes sense to opt for a rainwater harvesting system, not only because of the constantly rising water prices. When we use rainwater, we conserve valuable drinking water resources!
